Karnataka’s low cost airliner offers tickets for Rs 9

Low cost carrier Air Deccan is offering tickets for as low as Rs 9 to mark Karnataka’s fiftieth formation day.

More than 100,000 tickets priced at Rs 9 (plus taxes) will up for grabs on all the routes Air Deccan operates for travel upto March 25, according to a press statement from Managing Director of Air Deccan G R Gopinath.

The bookings for the low-priced tickets, which opened on Sunday, can be made on Air Deccan’s website www.airdeccan.net

To commemorate the golden jubilee of Karnataka’s formation, the low cost carrier has also launched air services from Bangalore to Hampi, the erstwhile seat of Vijaynagar empire and a popular tourist destination. The Bangalore-Hampi flights will commence from November 15.

“The Golden Jubilee of Karnataka’s formation is a matter of great pride for all of us, who dwell or belong to this great state. The Government has a slew of projects and celebrations underway and we want to take the festivities to the skies”, Gopinath said in the press statement.
