Air Deccan offers 500,000 free tickets

Low cost airlines Air Deccan will be offering 500,000 tickets free of cost for travel on all its 350 flights between July 1 and October 27. However, taxes and surcharge will have to be paid by the travellers.

According to a press statement from Air Deccan, booking for these tickets would open at 8 am on April 14 along with regular bookings across all flights and sectors for travel during the same period.

Air Deccan’s Chief Revenue Officer and Marketing Head Samyukth Sridharan said this was the first time the company was making an offer of free air tickets. Earlier, the low-cost airlines had introduced various innovative pricing policies with tickets ranging between Re 1 to Rs 500.

The company has also come out with a new cancellation policy that envisages no refund for any new tickets booked on and after April 14. “The tickets can, however, be rescheduled to another date, flight or sector”, according to the new terms and conditions.

Air Deccan tickets can be purchased through Air Deccan website, Air Deccan airport counters and travel agents across the country.

“We have the widest destination network in India and our aim is to cater to every traveler within the country. We were the first to release Rs 500 tickets and Re 1 tickets and this time we have taken a step forward by releasing free tickets”, Sridharan said.
