Vivek Oberoi at World Cow conference in Shimoga

Just when the attention of millions of bollywood fans was focused on the wedding of Aishwarya Rai with Abhishek Bachchan, the former beau of the actress Vivek Oberoi made a quiet appearance at Ramachandrapura Mutt in Shimoga in Karnataka along with his father Suresh Oberoi.

The Oberois were at the religious retreat, nestled in the midst of Sahyadri hills, which is bracing itself for the first global conference on the cow aimed at creating awareness about the unique traits of native cow breeds.

The Oberois refused to field any queries on the much-hyped bollywood wedding taking place in Mumbai. The Oberois touched the feet of the Seer of Ramachandrapura Mutt Raghaveshwara Bharathi and sought his blessings.

During the week-long cow conference beginning on Saturday, 32 rare Indian cattle varieties will be exhibited to the visitors. The organizers have made arrangements to feed an estimated 5 million people.

Scientists and dairy experts from different parts of the world are expected to participate in the conference, which will discuss the historical, cultural, economic and legal aspects of cattle rearing.
